| Here at Professional Design Group we offer an
array of available options to help tailor the correct product
for you based on your individual situation and desire. Below are
three of our most widely used options and they begin with the
most economical and progress to a more high-end production.
|
 |
Pressure treated southern yellow pine wood decking and
railings are the most economical way to go in custom deck
construction. We hand select premium grade wood decking to
insure there are no knots and imperfections. We also hand select
a #1 grade pressure treated wood wherever visible to insure that
your deck is constructed with top quality wood that will have
the longest possible life span. We use double hot dipped
galvanized ring shank nails and countersink them to insure they
will not back out as the wood dries out and contracts. |
| We allow wood decking to thoroughly dry prior to
installation to minimize the gap that seems to grow between
decking boards as they continue to dry with age. We typically
sand all visible components of every wood deck we build to
eliminate splinters, lumber stamps, and smudges. We then apply a
top grade oil-based stain with a UV inhibiter to protect your
deck from the elements to prolong the life of your deck for
many, many years to come. |

|
| Our second option which provides a high-end product for a
mid-grade price is exotic hardwood decking. The structural
framing beneath your decking is the same as you would find on a
pressure treated wood deck, but the life span of this dense
hardwood far exceeds the life span of treated pine ten fold. We
prefer an Indonesian hardwood called Kayu Batu. We distribute
this wood and we deal directly with the importer of it. Our
prices are as cheap as you can get and we pass this savings on
to our clients. More and more people are choosing this product
for it’s longevity and beauty. The density of this hardwood is
comparable to a popular hardwood called Ipe. Most of our clients
choose Kayu Batu over Ipe because of the color consistency, but
once they compare the price that quickly convinces them that
Kayu is the way to go |

| Pictured above is Kayu decking sanded and
stained with a Azek Premier railing throughout. When
constructing decks in exotic hardwood such as this we go that
extra mile and utilize an invisible fastening system to further
enhance it’s beauty. This product is essentially having a deck
constructed with hardwood flooring that absolutely weathers the
test of time “outdoors“. |

Other than constructing a deck in Ipe, PVC decking is the
most expensive way to go these days. Decking manufacturers are
constantly innovating and developing new ideas to enhance their
product and we think they’ve finally got it figured out.

This is the option to chose for the absolute least amount of
maintenance. This 100% PVC decking is stain resistant and
requires no more maintenance than a good washing off with water
after spraying Outdoor Clorox on it and letting it sit for
fifteen minutes. We suggest doing this easy cleaning method a
couple of times per year. |
| We utilize two to three brands of the leading
PVC decking manufacturers to provide our clients access to a
wider range of color choices and embossed wood grain features
that are constantly being enhanced. Again, we utilize a
stainless steel invisible fastening system that technology has
awarded us and our clients are ecstatic over the outcome! |
